B.C.S.G Homepage.

Welcome to the British Carp Study Group website.

The B.C.S.G. is a national single species organization for experienced and successful carp anglers. It`s main purpose is to encourage and facilitate free exchange of information between members who, by the nature of the standard required for membership, are some of the most experienced carp anglers in the country.

It is a non-political organization and therefore does not have a political agenda. However, it is a member of the Specialist Anglers Alliance and the Anglers Conservation Association.

Whilst it is progressive in outlook, is influential and does much for its members in an informal way, it is not a pressure group and its main objectives are social.

There are no rules and regulations and no ‘Constitution’. No member is obliged to take part in any of the Group’s activities, but all members are expected to make contributions (letter, article or Photograph) to `The Carp`, the B.C.S.G. magazine, which, as far as we are aware, is the only angling magazine that carries no form of direct advertising.

Membership of the B.C.S.G. is open to anyone. To become a member, there are qualifying standards and to be accepted you will need to be an experienced and successful carp angler. Membership is not restricted to any particular number, but it is not easy to be accepted. This is because we want membership of the B.C.S.G. to be something that carp anglers aspire to and feel that they have achieved something. The B.C.S.G. is not an elite but we do like to feel that it will be the ambition of many carp anglers to obtain membership.
